This highly acclaimed model was released in February 1987 as a standard model within the range. It is of the famous Scottish confectioner 'Tunnock' which sadly was to be the last yesteryear model to be assembled at the Rochford factory.
The Research and Development Department contacted the Thomas Tunnock Company to confirm the authenticity for this livery.

Livery: (Tampo)
'YES GO TO TUNNOCK'S' in white with black shadow effect.
PHONE 50 UDDINGSTON' and 'PHONE 28 BOTHWELL' in white below 'BAKER & CONFECTIONER', 'T. TUNNOCK' and 'UDDINGTON & BOTHWELL' in red with black outline and gold shadow effect all on both sides of van.
'T' and 'ROOM' in black with white outline on cab doors.
'TUNNOCK' in red on header board.

Variations/Rarities: Due to the recurrence of an ejector pin sticking in the mould, some 'Tunnock' models have a hole in the cab floor.
It usually had black 12 spoke wheels although gold 12 spoke wheels have been seen on this model. Some tunnock vans have been found with closed grab handles but the majority have open handles. Also *silver plated brightwork has been seen but these components are usually brass plated.

There has been one unconfirmed report of a model with the headboard lettering in maroon, not red!
Tunnock vans can be found with the following baseplates- "MATCHBOX © 1983 ENGLAND", "MATCHBOX © 1986 ENGLAND" or "MATCHBOX © 1986 LIMITED EDITION ENGLAND" which were intended to be used on the earlier ambulance issue.

* Tunnock model issue 4 - Headlights assembly only in silver, other plated parts in brass.
